How aluminium scrap becomes a certified ingot

Five controlled stages, every one of them weighed, logged and traceable back to the material that entered our gate.

Stage 01

Material in & weighing

  • Every load is logged with ticket number, supplier, item type and gross weight.
  • Incoming scrap is sampled and can be spectro-tested before it is priced.
  • Material is booked into stock the moment it is accepted at the gate.

Stage 02

Crushing, pulverising & separation

  • Single and double pulverising bring material to a consistent size for melting.
  • Magnetic separation pulls out ferrous contamination.
  • Screening removes fines and dust; recovered Dana goes straight back into stock.
  • Input and output weights are recorded per machine, operator and shift.

Stage 03

Crucible furnace melting

  • Charges are melted heat by heat under a work order with a heat number.
  • Input and output weight is captured for each heat, so recovery is measured, not guessed.
  • Day and night shift operation with operator-wise productivity tracking.

Stage 04

Casting, grading & spectro testing

  • Ingots are cast, weighed and counted into graded batches.
  • An 18-element spectro analysis is run and stored against the batch.
  • Customers receive a printable analysis certificate with reference and heat number.

Stage 05

Stock & dispatch

  • Ingot stock is filterable by grade, input material and element percentages.
  • Dispatch generates a delivery order automatically with weights and pieces.
  • Job orders show completed, in-production and balance quantity at any time.
